They returned to losing ways immediately with a 39-20 defeat in Toronto, and that proved to be the start of a season-ending five-game skid.
Hamilton lost 28-23 at Calgary and 37-22 at home to Toronto to enter their penultimate bye week at 4-9.
The Tiger-Cats then fell to 4-11 when they returned to action and followed up a 37-25 loss to Montreal with a 37-35 overtime defeat in Edmonton.

Ottawa are quickly running out of time in their quest to avoid going the entire season without a victory.
The Redblacks have come close to snapping their skid on several occasions, but ultimately they have come up short and that has left them with an 0-14 record heading into this game.
They had their final by week in early September, and when they returned to action they suffered a 26-23 defeat in Toronto.
Ottawa turned to quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson after that loss, and although that has not resulted in wins, it has provided the offense with a spark.
The Redblacks put up 38 points in a 40-38 defeat at Calgary, and then scored 31 points in last week’s rematch, which ended in a 45-31 defeat at home.
