The Blue Bombers made a miserable start to the season, losing four consecutive games to dig themselves into an early hole.
They stopped the rot with back-to-back wins in the first half of July, only to then lose a couple of games to end July at 2-6.
Winnipeg have turned things around though, sparking a five-game win streak with back-to-back wins over the BC Lions, winning 25-0 at home and 20-11 on the road.
The Blue Bombers then beat Hamilton 26-23, before claiming consecutive wins over Saskatchewan, winning 35-33 on the road and 26-21 on the road.
Edmonton Elks Form
Edmonton have also kick-started their season in recent weeks, winning five of their last six games to improve to 5-8.
The Elks’ chances of making the postseason were looking slim when they lost their first seven games, but they have breathed new life into their season since the start of August.
They finally got off the mark with a 42-32 win in Saskatchewan, and then backed that up with a 33-16 victory over the BC Lions and a 47-22 success in Hamilton.
Edmonton failed to make it four-in-a-row as they lost 21-17 at defending champions Montreal, but they quickly rebounded from that loss.
The Elks have recorded back-to-back wins over Calgary, beating the Stampeders 35-20 on the road and 37-16 at home.
