Montreal Alouettes at Saskatchewan Roughriders Predictions & Picks

Saskatchewan are tipped to cover as they get a measure of revenge for last week’s loss.

Montreal can now take their foot off the gas with top spot secure, and the Roughriders – who are still playing for a place in the playoffs – can take advantage.
  • Saskatchewan Roughriders are 3-1 in their last 4 home games
  • All 3 of Montreal Alouettes’ defeats have come on the road
  • The Over has cashed in 7 of Montreal’s previous 8 games

Head To Head

  • Montreal Alouettes lead the all-time series 52-32-1
  • Montreal Alouettes won 44-24 when the two teams last met on October 12

Montreal Alouettes Form

Montreal head to Saskatchewan on a three-game win streak, and having wrapped up top spot in the division with a 13-3 record.

The Alouettes put themselves firmly on course of the postseason as they won nine of their first 10 games of the season.

They ended August with a 44-28 defeat in Winnipeg, and then failed to back up a 37-30 win over BC as they lost 48-29 at the Lions a week later.

However, Montreal have not lost since then, clinching the number one seed with three consecutive victories.

The Alouettes beat Hamilton 37-25 on the road, before returning home to down Winnipeg 37-10 and Saskatchewan 44-24.

Saskatchewan Roughriders Form

Saskatchewan enter this game on a four-game losing skid, but still in the postseason picture with an 8-8 record.

The Roughriders appeared to be well on course for the playoffs as they won six of their first eight games of the season.

They then responded to back-to-back road defeats with home wins over Toronto, 28-24, and Winnipeg, 32-26 in overtime.

However, Saskatchewan have cooled off since then, with a 19-6 defeat in Winnipeg proving to be the start of a four-game skid.

The Roughriders have since lost 31-24 at the BC Lions, 37-31 at home to Calgary, and 44-24 on the road in Montreal.

Verdict

Montreal ran out convincing winners when these two teams met a week ago, but this latest meeting is a ‘dead rubber’ thanks to that victory.

Saskatchewan need this more, and we are backing them to beat an Alouettes team that could opt to limit the snaps or totally rest their starters.
