Winnipeg Blue Bombers Form
Winnipeg head out on the road looking to win back-to-back games for the first time since July and move a step closer to the postseason.
The Blue Bombers made a strong start as they won four of their first six games, only to cool off over the next several weeks.
They lost four times in seven games before their final bye week of the season to sit 7-6 in late September.
Winnipeg’s postseason hopes then took a hit as they returned to action with a 30-28 defeat to Toronto and a 37-10 loss in Montreal.
The Blue Bombers bounced back last week though, as they beat Calgary 33-28 to go into their penultimate game narrowly ahead of Saskatchewan and the Roughriders.
Edmonton Elks Form
Edmonton go into their penultimate game of the regular season in top spot in the division, but needing one more win to lock it up.
The Elks raced out of the blocks with six wins in their first seven games, before cooling off with back-to-back defeats in early August.
They rebounded strongly though, kick-starting a four-game win streak with a 42-12 win at home to Toronto.
Edmonton then beat Winnipeg 22-19, before recording back-to-back victories against Calgary, winning 38-28 on the road and 53-16 at home.
The Elks failed to make it five-in-a-row as they lost 24-19 in Toronto, but they have bounced back by beating Hamilton 37-35 in overtime at home and 27-12 in regulation on the road.
Verdict
Edmonton are sitting pretty in the division and are headed to the playoffs, but there is still work to be done.
The Elks need one more win to clinch the division, and we are backing them to get it against a Winnipeg team they have already beaten twice this season.
