The Giants went 6-1 in their first seven games under Brian Daboll, but their form has tailed off and they have now won just one of the last six to fall to 7-5-1.
They went into the bye on the back of a 27-13 defeat at Seattle, and although they made a winning return to action they have not won since the 24-16 success against Houston.
New York immediately returned to losing ways a week later as they were beaten 31-18 at home by Detroit.
That became back-to-back defeats with a 28-20 loss at Dallas, which was then followed up by a 20-20 tie at home to Washington.
The Giants’ winless run then hit four games last weekend as they were blown out at home by Philadelphia, 48-21.

Washington have been one of the NFL’s hottest teams in recent weeks, surging into postseason mix.
The Commanders looked set for a disappointing season as they went 1-4 through the first five weeks.
However, they fended off Chicago in a 12-7 Week 6 win, and that sparked a transformation in fortunes.
Washington followed it up with a 23-21 home win against Green Bay before heading on the road to beat Indianapolis 17-16.
Their win streak ended at three games as they were beaten 20-17 at Minnesota, but Washington bounced back quickly to win their next three games.
The Commanders became the first team to beat Philadelphia this season as they downed the Eagles 32-21, and that was followed up by a 23-10 win at Houston and a 19-13 home win against Atlanta.
Once again they failed to string together four wins though, playing out a 20-20 tie with the New York Giants before the bye week.
