The Knicks warmed up for the campaign by going 4-1 in the preseason, which started with a 111-109 victory in Charlotte.
They returned home after that and downed Washington 117-9 before beating Minnesota 115-110.
New York then made it four-in-a-row as they beat Charlotte 111-105, but they failed to complete a perfect preseason campaign.
The Knicks wrapped things up in Washington last Friday night, and they fell to a 118-117 defeat at the hands of the Wizards.

Boston come into the new campaign looking to win back-to-back NBA titles following their success last season.
The Celtics eased to a 4-1 series win over Dallas in the finals back in June, and they come into their title defence having put together a 4-1 preseason record.
They began their preparations in Abu Dhabi, where they recorded 107-103 and 130-104 victories over Denver.
Boston then returned home to blow out Philadelphia, 139-89, before downing Toronto, 115-111.
The Celtics then concluded their preseason schedule with a trip to Toronto to take on the Raptors, and they missed out on a 100% record as they were beaten 119-118.
