The Hawkeyes kicked things off with a shutout victory, as they downed Northern Illinois 40-0 at home.
They backed that up a week later, although the 16-13 victory over rivals Iowa State was much closer than many expected it to be.
There was nothing close about Iowa’s third outing of the season though, as they posted their second shutout win of the season.
This time the Hawkeyes downed Northern Iowa 50-0, giving them a perfect record to take to their Big Ten opener at the ‘Big House’.
Michigan Form
Michigan also enter this game boasting a 100% record after three weeks, but there has been no shortage of controversy.
The Wolverines appeared poised for a shock home defeat to Western Michigan on opening weekend, when a ‘Hail Mary’ attempt failed.
However, the officials added one second back onto the clock, giving Michigan a second chance, and this time they took it as a successful ‘Hail Mary’ gave them a 13-12 victory.
Michigan followed up that victory a week later as they upset a ranked Oklahoma team, 17-10.
The Wolverines then made it three-in-a-row last Saturday, as they cruised to a 52-17 victory over UTEP.
