The Golden Gophers opened with back-to-back home wins against Nebraska, 13-10, and Eastern Michigan, 25-6, only to then lose 31-13 at #20 North Carolina and 37-34 at Northwestern.
They steadied the ship briefly with a 35-24 win against Louisiana, only to then suffer a 52-10 blowout defeat at the hands of #2 Michigan.
Minnesota bounced back with their best victory to date, winning 12-10 at #24 Iowa, and they then backed that up with a 27-12 win over Michigan State.
The Golden Gophers have not won since though, losing 27-26 at home to Illinois and 49-30 at Purdue.
Ohio State Form
Ohio State remain on course of the College Football Playoffs and take a 10-0 record into this game.
The Buckeyes opened with a 23-3 win at Big Ten rivals Indiana, and after a couple of wins against minor teams they staged a late fightback to knock off #9 Notre Dame on the road, 17-14.
They returned to Big Ten duty after that and beat Maryland 37-17 at home and Purdue 41-7 on the road to set themselves up for a big meeting with Penn State.
Ohio State took that meeting with the Nittany Lions, running out 20-12 winners at home in that one.
The Buckeyes then kept their streak going with a 24-10 win at Wisconsin and a 35-16 victory at Rutgers, before returning home to blow out Michigan State, 38-3.
