Chicago go into this Thanksgiving Day clash having conjured up another heart-breaking way to lose and take their skid to five games.
The Bears made a promising start to the season with four wins in their first six games, but it has been all downhill since they returned from London.
They gave up a last gasp ‘Hail Mary’ at Washington to lose 18-15, and then produced a couple of pitiful performances as they lost 29-9 in Arizona and 19-3 at home to New England.
That loss to the Patriots resulted in Chicago firing their offensive co-ordinator, and despite an improved offensive showing a week later, they had a walk-off field goal blocked to lose 20-19 to Green Bay.
Chicago then staged a sensational last-gasp fightback to force overtime against Minnesota last weekend, only to lose 30-27.
Detroit Lions Form
Detroit are the betting favorites to win the first time in franchise history thanks to a nine-game win streak that has propelled them to 10-1.
The Lions failed to build on a season-opening win as they lost 20-16 at home to Tampa Bay, but since then they have been on a tear.
They won 20-13 in Arizona, and then followed up a 42-29 home win over Seattle with big road wins against Dallas, 47-9, and Minnesota, 31-29.
Detroit’s streak continued with a 52-14 demolition of Tennessee, before they went back out on the road to beat Green Bay 24-14 and Houston 26-23.
The Lions have since taken their win streak to nine games by crushing Jacksonville 52-6 at home and beating Indianapolis 24-6 on the road.
