The Browns rebounded from a season-opening loss to Dallas with an 18-13 win at Jacksonville, only to then go on a five-game losing skid.
They stopped the rot with a stunning 29-24 win at home to Baltimore, but their joy was short-lived.
Cleveland lost 27-10 to the Los Angeles Chargers a week later, before heading to New Orleans for a 35-14 defeat to New Orleans.
The Browns did avoid a third straight loss though, as they knocked off Pittsburgh at home last time out, 24-19.

Denver go into this Monday night matchup having won back-to-back games to stay in the playoff hunt at 7-5.
The Broncos limped out of the blocks with back-to-back defeats, but rallied with a three-game win streak to kick-start their season.
They won 26-7 at Tampa Bay and 10-9 at the New York Jets, before returning home to down Las Vegas 34-18.
Denver then bounced back from a 23-16 defeat to the Los Angeles Chargers with a 33-10 victory at New Orleans and a 28-14 win at home to Carolina.
The Broncos lost a couple of tough games after that, 41-10 in Baltimore and 16-14 at Kansas City, but responded with a 38-6 blowout of Atlanta and a 29-19 victory in Las Vegas.
