Their primetime woes continued in Week 2 as they were beaten 27-10 at Green Bay, and although they won a week later, it was hardly convincing.
An inept offense was bailed out late on by a Roquan Smith pick as they snatched a 23-20 win against Houston.
Chicago immediately returned to losing ways a week later with a 20-12 defeat at the New York Giants, and they then blew a late lead to lose 29-22 at Minnesota.
The Bears’ losing streak hit three games in Week 6 as wasted three trips to redzone in a 12-9 home defeat to Washington.
New England Patriots Form
New England have overcome the recent absence of starting QB Mac Jones to improve to 3-3.
The Patriots started the season with a 20-7 loss in Miami, but they rebounded a week later to win 17-14 in Pittsburgh.
They were unable to back that up in their home opener though, as a poor third quarter handed a 37-26 win to Baltimore.
To make matters worse they lost Jones to an ankle injury during the loss, catapulting Brian Hoyer into the starting spot a week later.
Hoyer was ineffective though, and he was replaced by Bailey Zappe in a 27-24 overtime defeat at Green Bay.
Zappe’s performance earned him the starting job for the home game against Detroit, and he has repaid his coach’s confidence by leading the Patriots to back-to-back wins.
New England first shut out Detroit in a 29-0 victory, and followed that up with a 38-15 success at Cleveland.
