Pittsburgh head to Miami on the back of a victory that halted a four-game losing sequence.
The Steelers grabbed headlines on opening weekend as they upset Cincinnati 23-20 in overtime.
They were brought back down to Earth a week later though, losing 17-14 to New England in their home opener.
A week later they were beaten 29-17 by Cleveland as pressure began to mount on starting QB Mitchell Trubisky, and he was benched a week later as the losing run hit three games.
With Pittsburgh trailing 10-6 to the New York Jets at the break, head coach Mike Tomlin replaced Trubisky with rookie Kenny Pickett and it was a move that paid off early on.
Pickett rushed for a couple of touchdowns as the Steelers edged ahead early in the fourth quarter, but they then gave up 14 unanswered points in the final seven-and-a-half minutes to lose 24-20.
Their losing run then hit four games as Pickett’s first start ended in 38-3 blowout defeat to Buffalo.
Pittsburgh did stop the rot a week later, but it was not Pickett who led them to a 20-18 victory against Tampa Bay.
The rookie QB suffered a concussion during the game and had to be replaced by Trubisky, who hit Chase Claypool for what proved to be the game-winning TD.

Miami go into this game looking to end a three-game losing run amidst major quarterback controversy.
The Dolphins made a fast start to the season as they beat New England 20-7 and then came storming back to win 42-38 at Baltimore.
They then upset Buffalo 21-19 at home to improve to 3-0, but the wheels came off a few days later.
Despite suffering what appeared to be a concussion in that win, Tua Tagovailoa was cleared to play in the Thursday night game in Cincinnati.
The Dolphins were heavily criticised for that decision, and the criticism erupted when Tagovailoa was sacked in the game had to be carted off the field with a suspected concussion.
The Miami QB has not played since that loss to the Bengals, and in his absence they have lost two more games.
The Dolphins were blown out 40-17 at the New York Jets before suffering a 24-16 defeat at home to Minnesota.
The good news for the Florida franchise is that Tagovailoa could make his return to action against the Steelers, having cleared the league’s concussion protocol.
