Los Angeles Chargers at Houston Texans Preview & Picks

Los Angeles are tipped to cover as a favorite on the road.

The Chargers have been a reliable spread bet and are facing a Houston team that is ravaged by injuries and has a rough record against playoff-bound teams.

  • Los Angeles Chargers are 12-5-0 ATS this season
  • Los Angeles Chargers are 5-2-0 ATS in their last 7 road games
  • Houston Texans are 1-5 against teams that made the playoffs
  • The two teams have allowed a combined 39.6 points per game this season

Head To Head

  • Los Angeles Chargers lead the all-time series 6-3
  • Los Angeles Chargers won 34-24 when the two teams last met in October 2022

Los Angeles Chargers Form

Los Angeles head into this playoff matchup having closed out the regular season with three straight wins to finish 11-6.

The Chargers split their first six games of the season, but found some form in late October as they kicked off a four-game win streak with a 26-8 victory over New Orleans.

That run was halted by a 30-23 defeat to Baltimore, and although they rebounded to beat Atlanta 17-13, their form cooled off again.

Los Angeles lost back-to-back games to playoff-bound teams, Kansas City and Tampa Bay, but avoided a third straight loss as they beat Denver at home, 34-27.

The Chargers then backed up that victory on the road, beating to New England 40-7 and Las Vegas 34-20 to book their trip to the postseason.

Houston Texans Form

Houston are back in the playoffs again, but they underwhelmed and injuries took their toll as they finished the regular season 10-7.

The Texans made a strong start as they won six of their first eight games of the season, but they struggled to string together wins during the second half of the campaign.

They ended October with a 21-13 defeat the New York Jets and then lost two of their three games in November.

Houston finally put together a couple of wins to start December, beating Jacksonville 23-30 and Miami 20-12, but they failed to keep that run going as they lost their next two.

The Texans lost 27-19 to Kansas City and were blown out 31-2 by Baltimore, before closing out the regular season with a 23-14 victory in Tennessee.
