San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams Predictions & Picks

San Francisco are tipped to cover as a betting underdog in this historic game ‘Down Under’.

Los Angeles take a loaded roster to Melbourne – but their decision to arrive just one day before the game is a massive red flag for this one.

A similar approach worked against Jacksonville in London last year, but this is a much longer trip and this 49ers team is a step up from the Jags – this approach may backfire.

  • The betting underdog has covered in 5 of the last 6 meetings
  • San Francisco 49ers went 7-2-0 ATS in their 9 regular season road games in 2025
  • Los Angeles Rams went 6-6-0 ATS in their 12 total road games last season
  • The Over has cashed in 6 of the previous 7 meetings

Head To Head

  • San Francisco 49ers lead the all-time series 79-72-3
  • Los Angeles Rams won 42-26 when the two teams last met in November 2025

San Francisco 49ers Form

San Francisco head to Australia looking to embark on a run to Super Bowl glory this season.

Despite dealing with a bunch of injuries, the 49ers put together a 12-5 record last season to finish third in the loaded NFC West and seal a place in the Wild Card round.

They successfully took down Philadelphia on the road in that matchup, winning 23-19, but that was as good as it got for them.

San Francisco met eventual Super Bowl winners Seattle in the Divisional round, and suffered a 41-6 blowout defeat at the hands of the Seahawks.

The 49ers have prepared for the new campaign by going 2-1 in pre-season, rebounding from a 19-13 loss to Tennessee with road wins over the Los Angeles Chargers, 41-17, and Las Vegas, 18-12.

Los Angeles Rams Form

Los Angeles enter the new season as the bookmakers’ favorites to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy next February.

The Rams fell short in that quest last year, despite embarking on a deep run in the postseason that saw them make the NFC Championship Game.

They went 12-5 in the regular season to finish second in the NFC West, and battled their way past Carolina, 34-31, and Chicago, 20-17 in overtime, to make the conference championship.

However, that proved to be a step too far for Los Angeles, as they were beaten 31-27 at division rivals Seattle to miss out on the Super Bowl.

The Rams have warmed up for the new season by going a perfect 3-0 in pre-season, beating Kansas City 20-12, New Orleans 34-0 and the Los Angeles Chargers 20-18.

Verdict

Our Verdict
It is no surprise to see Los Angeles heading up the outright betting, and we are backing them to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy next February.

However, their radical approach to playing in Australia could backfire on them – it, at the very least, has us leaning towards the 49ers and the free points.
