Ottawa Redblacks at BC Lions Predictions & Picks

BC are tipped to cover a double digit spread as they edge closer to the playoffs.

The Lions are one of the hottest teams in the CFL so far, and a repeat of the August blowout of the winless Redblacks could be on the cards here.
  • BC Lions are 8-1 in their last 9 games
  • BC Lions are 6-1-0 ATS in their last 7 games
  • BC Lions won by 21 points when the teams met in Ottawa on August 30
  • The Over has cashed in each of the previous 3 meetings

Head To Head

  • BC Lions lead the all-time series 15-7
  • BC Lions won 45-24 when the two teams last met on August 30

Ottawa Redblacks Form

Ottawa head to British Columbia still seeking their first win of the season, having slipped to 0-15 last time out.

The introduction of McLeod Bethel-Thompson brought a spark to the offense last month, but ultimately bad defense rendered his efforts fruitless.

The Redblacks ran Toronto close on the road before falling to a 26-23 defeat, and that was followed by back-to-back defeats to Calgary.

Despite scoring over 30 points in each game, Ottawa were beaten 40-38 on the road and 45-31 at home.

The Redblacks offense then stalled last week, as they were beaten 34-16 at home by Hamilton.

BC Lions Form

BC enter this matchup in fantastic form, having won eight of their last nine games to reach 9-9 and put themselves on the brink of the postseason.

The Lions made a rough start to the campaign as they lost five of their first six games, but  turned things around in August as a five-game win streak kick-started their season.

That run was ended by a 37-30 defeat in Montreal on September 4, but they have not lost since.

BC avenged that loss to the Alouettes a week later, as they ran out 48-29 winners before their final bye week of the season.

The Lions then backed that up with a 31-24 victory over defending champions Saskatchewan, before heading out on the road to beat Toronto 24-17.

Verdict

This is a lot of points, but the Lions are on a red-hot run right now while Ottawa continue to pile up losses.

BC blew out the Redblacks in the recent meeting on the road, and we expect to see more of the same now they are back home.
