Fresno State go into the season opener looking to improve on a 2023 regular season that saw them go 8-4.
The Bulldogs kicked off the campaign with a five-game win streak that briefly propelled them into the top 25 teams in the country.
Their spell in the rankings was ended by a 24-19 defeat to Wyoming, and they failed to get back in the top 25 despite winning their next three games.
Fresno State failed to keep that run going though, as they lost their final three outings to miss out on a place in the Mountain West Conference championship.
The Bulldogs had done enough to earn a Bowl Game invitation though, and they ran out 37-10 winners when they took on New Mexico State in the New Mexico Bowl.
Michigan Form
Michigan enter the 2024 season having lost their head coach and a bunch of key offensive players in the offseason.
However, the Wolverines do come into the new campaign as they defending national champions after a perfect 2023 campaign.
They won all 15 games last time round despite seeing head coach Jim Harbaugh miss several games due to a suspension.
Harbaugh did return for the make-or-break part of the season though, leading them to a 30-24 victory over bitter rivals Ohio State and a 26-0 win over Iowa in the Big Ten Championship.
The Wolverines then beat Alabama 27-20 in the Rose Bowl before clinching the national title with a 34-13 victory over Washington.
