North Dakota State Form
North Dakota State enter the 2024 season looking to better a 2023 run that saw them make the semi-finals of the Division 1 FCS playoffs.
The Bison went 8-3 during the regular season to earn their place in the postseason, and they made a successful start to the playoffs as they blew out Drake, 66-3, in the first round.
They found the second round much tougher though, needed overtime to take down Montana State, 35-34.
North Dakota State then successfully negotiated the quarter-finals by avenging a regular season defeat to South Dakota with a 45-17 victory.
However, the Bison’s run was finally brought to an end in the semi-finals, as they were beaten 31-29 by Montana in double overtime.
Colorado Form
Colorado come into the 2024 season looking to snap a six-game skid and improve on a 4-8 campaign in 2023.
The Buffaloes quickly earned themselves a spot in the College Football rankings as they upset TCU, 45-42, in their opening game.
They backed that up with a couple more wins, only to see the hype train come to a shuddering halt in late September as they were destroyed by Oregon, 48-41.
Colorado rebounded with a 27-24 win at Arizona State a week later, but that proved to be their final win of the season.
The Buffaloes lost three straight meetings with ranked teams, before closing out the campaign with back-to-back road defeats, losing 56-14 at Washington State and 23-17 in Utah.
