Louisville missed out on the ACC Championship Game, but secured a Bowl Game invite by compiling an 8-4 record.
The Cardinals opened by going 3-1 in non-conference action, but suffered early setbacks in ACC as they lost two of their first three games.
They sandwiched a 24-20 win at Virginia with home defeats to SMU, 34-27, and Miami, 52-45, before rebounding to beat Boston College 31-27 and Clemson 33-21 on the road.
However, Louisville failed to make it three wins in a row, losing 38-35 at Stanford to end their hopes of the making the ACC’s big game.
The Cardinals did at least end the regular season on a positive note though, beating Pitt 37-9 and Kentucky 41-14.
Washington Form
Washington endured a rough first season in the Big Ten, but a 6-6 record did ensure a Bowl Game appearance.
The Huskies won two of their three non-conference games, and then enjoyed a winning debut in their new conference as they beat Northwestern 24-5.
They lost three of their next four though, with their only victory being the 27-17 success against defending national champions Michigan.
Washington rallied with a 26-21 win over USC, only to then suffer a 35-6 defeat at the hands of Penn State.
The Huskies responded with a 31-19 victory against UCLA, but they again failed to follow up a win as they lost their regular season finale at Oregon, 49-21.
