Ohio State at Texas Predictions & Picks

The Under is tipped to cash in this clash of two of college football’s best.

These two teams went under the total when they met in each of the last two seasons, and with two elite defenses on show once again, more of the same is likely here.

  • The Under has cashed in each of the previous 4 meetings
  • The Under has hit in 10 of Ohio State’s last 15 games
  • Ohio State beat Texas in January and August 2025
  • Ohio State have won their last 13 regular season games

Head To Head

  • Ohio State lead the all-time series 3-2
  • Ohio State won 14-7 when the two teams last met in August 2025

Ohio State Form

Ohio State head out on the road looking to extend a 13-game regular season win streak that dates back to the start of last season.

The Buckeyes ultimately came up short in the Big Ten Championship and the College Football Playoffs, but they were a dominant force as they won all 13 games prior to that.

That streak included a season-opening victory against a Texas team that was ranked number one going into that matchup.

Ohio State made a winning start to the 2026 season too, albeit against much weaker opposition than the Longhorns.

Julian Sayin went 21/25 for 320 yards and three touchdowns, while Jeremiah Smith racked up 151 receiving yards and two TDs as they Buckeyes blew out Ball State, 56-3, last weekend.

Texas Form

Texas underwhelmed during the 2025 season, missing out on the playoffs, but they were able to continue their rock-solid home form.

The Longhorns did not drop a single game at DKR, but costly defeats at Ohio State, Florida and Georgia ended any hopes they had of making the College Football Playoffs.

Instead they settled for a Bowl Game against Michigan, which they won 41-27.

Texas came into the new campaign looking to rebound and challenge for both conference and national honors, and they made a winning start at the expense of overmatched Texas State.

Arch Manning threw for 305 yards, four touchdowns and one interception, while Ryan Wingo put up 121 yards and one TD off seven receptions in a 59-7 victory.

Verdict

Our Verdict
You could make a case for either team heading into this one, but the one thing you can be extremely confident on is Texas and Ohio State going under the total.

Two of college football’s strongest defenses will be on show here, meaning points are likely to be at a premium.
