Oklahoma at Michigan Predictions & Picks

Oklahoma are tipped to cover as they win on the road in the ‘Big House’.

The Sooners defense can slow down a Michigan offense that struggled badly in last week’s embarrassing win, while John Mateer and the offense put up enough points to get the job done.

  • Oklahoma covered in their season-opening win
  • Oklahoma were 4-1-0 ATS in their 5 road games last season
  • Michigan are 2-6-0 ATS in their last 8 games
  • The Under cashed in both teams’ season opener

Head To Head

  • Oklahoma lead the all-time series 2-0
  • Oklahoma won 24-13 when the two teams last met in September 2025

Oklahoma Form

Oklahoma head out on the road for the first time looking to build on a one-sided blowout in their season-opener.

The Sooners, who were bounced out of the playoffs in the first round by Alabama last season, entered the new campaign with their sights set on challenging for a national title.

Unsurprisingly they got off to a dominant start as they rolled over UTEP at home, winning 51-0.

Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer threw just 17 times on the day, with his 11 completions producing three touchdowns.

Lloyd Avant and Ben McCreary dominated on the ground as they combined for 119 yards and a touchdown, while five other players also contributed in the ground game.

Michigan Form

Michigan enter this matchup with a 1-0 record, but last weekend’s victory over Western Michigan was mired with controversy.

The Wolverines appeared to have suffered a shock 12-7 defeat to the Broncos when a last-gasp ‘Hail Mary’ attempt failed.

However, officials ruled that a visiting player was out of bounds when he made contact with the football, and ordered that one second be added back onto the clock.

Michigan attempted another desperate ‘Hail Mary’ in an attempt to snatch the victory, and this time they succeeded as JJ Buchanan hauled in Bryce Underwood’s 47-yard pass for the win.

Underwood went just 12/22 for 170 yards, one touchdown and one interception of the day, although he did also contribute 47 yards and a TD on the ground.

Verdict

Our Verdict
Michigan scraped by Western Michigan last weekend – they are unlikely to have the same good fortune here.

A display of complementary football is likely to see Oklahoma with this matchup and cover the spread in the process.
