Rutgers Form

Rutgers go into their toughest game of the season on the back of their first defeat of the campaign.

The Scarlet Knights edged Boston College in their season-opener, 22-21, and then blew out Wagner 66-7 in their first home outing.

They made it three-in-a-row a week later with a 16-14 victory at Temple, but their streak came to an end last Saturday as they lost 27-10 at home to Iowa.

QB Evan Simon is 55/89 for 566 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.

Aron Cruickshank is the leading receiver with 156 yards and two touchdowns off 18 receptions.

This offense is built on the back of the run game though, with no less than five players having rushed for 100 yards so far this season.

Over on defense, Rutgers are top 15 in the nation in yards allowed per game (284.3) and top 30 in points allowed per game (20.7).

Ohio State Form

Ohio State remain #3 in the college football rankings after improving to 4-0 with another comfortable win last weekend.

The Buckeyes dropped from #2 as they underwhelmed in a 21-10 opening-day win against #5 Notre Dame.

They bounced back a week later though, beating Arkansas State 45-12, and they have followed up that victory with a 77-21 blowout of Toledo and 52-21 victory against Wisconsin.

QB CJ Stroud is 79/112 for 1,222 yards, 16 touchdowns and just one interception.

Emeka Egbuka (442 yards, five touchdowns) and Marvin Harrison Jr (387 yards, five TDs) have been his two favorite targets in the passing game.

The Buckeyes have also been getting the job done on the ground, with two players over the 300-yard mark.

TreVeyon Henderson has rushed for 318 yards and three touchdowns, while Miyan Williams has gone for 308 yards and three TDs.

On the opposite side of the football, Ohio State have given up 16.0 points and 283.0 yards per game.
