Pittsburgh Steelers at New England Patriots Predictions & Picks

Pittsburgh are tipped to cover as a betting underdog at New England.

Both offenses struggled badly in their opening games, and in matchup that could turn into a low-scoring grind, a good Steelers defense with almost a touchdown in free points has appeal.

  • Pittsburgh Steelers are 1-0-0 ATS this season
  • New England Patriots scored just 10 points in Week 1
  • Pittsburgh Steelers gave up just 13 points in the season opener
  • The Under cashed when these two teams met last season

Head To Head

  • New England Patriots lead the all-time series 19-17
  • Pittsburgh Steelers won 21-14 when the two teams last met in September 2025

Pittsburgh Steelers Form

Pittsburgh head out on the road for the first time this season looking to improve their record to 2-0.

The Steelers opened their campaign at home last Sunday, and despite a poor display from the offense, they were able to grind out a 20-13 win over Atlanta.

The decisive moment came early in the fourth quarter when TJ Watt picked off Cooper Rush and returned the ball 35 yards for a touchdown.

Veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers went 24/40 for 221 yards and one touchdown, with Michael Pittman Jr his leading receiver with 58 yards.

Pittsburgh’s ground game stalled in the victory as Jaylen Warren put up 46 yards, while Rico Dowdle managed only 15 yards off eight carries.

New England Patriots Form

New England enter their home opener aiming to rebound from the defeat to Seattle in a rematch of last season’s Super Bowl.

The Patriots held a 10-point lead early in the third quarter, but gave up the next 13 points as they Seahawks battled back to win 13-10.

It was a rough outing for the offense, with quarterback Drake Maye throwing a game-ending pick with the team in field goal territory.

Maye finished 23/33 for 178 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions, and he was also sacked three times by Seattle.

Running back Rhamondre Stevenson was the sole bright spot on offense, as he put up 95 total yards in the loss.

Verdict

Our Verdict
Two good defenses will take to the field in this one, so points are likely to be at a premium.

That alone makes the Steelers a tempting pick with the points, and making them even more appealing is the fact they held the Patriots to just 14 points as they beat them last season.
