Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Houston Texans Preview & Picks

Tampa Bay are tipped to cover as a slight underdog on Monday Night Football.

The Buccaneers offense is humming with Baker Mayfield at the controls, while the defense can have success against a struggling Houston O-line that lost its starting center.

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 14-4-0 ATS in their last 18 regular season road games
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 3-0-0 ATS in their last 3 games as a betting underdog
  • The Under cashed in Tampa Bay’s season opener
  • The Under hit in Houston’s first game of the season

Head To Head

  • Houston Texans lead the all-time series 5-1
  • Houston Texans won 39-37 when the two teams last met in November 2023

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Form

Tampa Bay head out on the road for the second week running looking to maintain a perfect start.

The Buccaneers made it to the playoffs last season, only to suffer a home defeat at the hands of Washington in the Wildcard round.

And while they are not considered a Super Bowl contender this time around, they are one of the favourites in the race to reach the playoffs.

Tampa Bay got off to the perfect start last Sunday, as they took down division rivals Atlanta on the road, 23-20.

Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield threw for three touchdowns, while the defense bent but did not break to hold the Falcons to 20 points.

Houston Texans Form

Houston return home still seeking a first win of the season after a heart-breaking loss at the weekend.

The Texans took the AFC South crown last season despite suffering seven regular season defeats, and they did manage one playoff win.

They beat the Los Angeles Chargers 32-12 in the Wildcard round, only to fall 23-14 when they visited Kansas City in the Divisional round.

Houston are looking for another run to the postseason in 2025, but made a disappointing starting last weekend as they coughed up a late fumble to lose 14-9 at the Los Angeles Rams.

Texans quarterback CJ Stroud was held to just 188 yards and no touchdowns, while throwing one interception.
