Oklahoma head out on the road having suffered their third defeat of the season to fall to 3-3.
The Sooners enjoyed a winning start to the season as they shut out UTEP, 51-0, in a non-conference game.
They failed to build on that as they were upset in Michigan, 17-10, and although they rebounded a week later, they underwhelmed in a 14-6 victory over New Mexico.
Oklahoma then kicked off their SEC schedule with a 41-13 blowout loss at Georgia, only to bounce back with a 27-24 upset of Texas in the Red River Rivalry.
The Sooners again failed to follow up a win though, as they were beaten 21-13 at home by Kentucky last weekend.
Mississippi State Form
Mississippi State enter this matchup looking to rebound from back-to-back defeats that have dropped them to 4-2.
The Bulldogs opened the season with back-to-back non-conference wins, beating UL-Monroe 62-13 and Minnesota 38-13.
They then kicked off their SEC slate with a 41-34 victory in South Carolina, before returning home to down Missouri, 31-24.
Mississippi State have not won since though, as they saw their winning start end with a 56-23 blowout loss to Alabama.
That became back-to-back defeats for the Bulldogs last weekend, as they were shut out in a 31-0 loss at LSU.
Verdict
Neither offense instils much confidence here – Oklahoma have struggled with the football all season and Mississippi State were a mess last weekend without Kamario Taylor.
