Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions Predictions & Picks

Green Bay are tipped to cover as a road betting underdog in this big NFC North clash.

The Packers can take advantage of Detroit’s worst pass defense in the league, but the Lions can enjoy success on the ground against a Green Bay run defense that has struggled.

This could come down to whoever has the ball last, making the free points an appealing pick.
  • Green Bay Packers are 3-0-0 ATS in their last 3 games
  • Detroit Lions are 2-3-0 ATS so far this season
  • Green Bay Packers swept Detroit last season
  • The Over has cashed in all 5 of Detroit’s games so far

Head To Head

  • Green Bay Packers lead the all-time series 108-78-7
  • Green Bay Packers won 31-24 when the two teams last met in November 2025

Green Bay Packers Form

Green Bay go into this massive NFC North showdown having found some form in recent weeks, winning three straight to improve to 4-2.

The Packers got off to a rough start as they kicked off the season with a 39-22 defeat at division rivals Minnesota.

They then failed to build on a 20-17 overtime win at the New York Jets, suffering a 35-14 defeat when they played host to Atlanta.

Green Bay bounced back in their next outing though, beating Tampa Bay 17-14 on the road, and then backed that up with a 31-7 blowout of Chicago.

The Packers made it three-in-a-row last Sunday, as they downed Dallas on Sunday Night Football, 23-13.

Detroit Lions Form

Detroit return from the bye week desperately looking for some consistency, having gone 3-2 through their first five games.

The Lions opened their campaign with a 31-30 overtime win over New Orleans, but failed to follow that up the following week as they lost 41-31 in Buffalo.

That has proven to be the pattern for them so far this season, as they have failed to string together wins.

Detroit rebounded from the loss with a 31-24 victory over the New York Jets, only to then lose 32-26 when they visited Carolina.

The Lions did go into the bye week on a positive note though, as they eased to a 45-21 win in Arizona last time out.

Verdict

Both teams have the talent on offense to expose the opposition’s flaws on defense, so this could turn into a back-and-forth contest that goes to the wire.

For that reason we are taking Green Bay – who swept the Lions last season – and the free points.
