Boxing Betting Picks

Today's Games & Picks

Boxing enters the final months of 2026 with no shortage of major fights, compelling storylines and potentially seismic changes taking place outside the ring.

When Is Canelo Alvarez’s Next Fight?

Canelo Alvarez is scheduled to return against Christian Mbilli on October 31 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the WBC super-middleweight world title at stake. The contest was originally planned for September before being postponed, but Canelo is now preparing for a Halloween-night return.

It represents a fascinating assignment for the Mexican superstar. For much of the past decade, Canelo has been one of boxing’s defining figures, winning world titles across four weight divisions and becoming the dominant force at 168lbs. However, he enters the Mbilli contest attempting to re-establish himself at the summit following his defeat to Terence Crawford.

Mbilli provides anything but a straightforward route back. The unbeaten champion has built his reputation on pressure, physical strength and a willingness to force opponents into uncomfortable fights. Canelo remains the vastly more experienced man, but at 36 he is entering the stage of his career where every performance inevitably produces questions about how much remains.

Victory would put Canelo back on top of the WBC super-middleweight picture and potentially open the door to another major event in 2027. Defeat would represent something much more significant – another indication that one of the great careers of the modern era may finally be approaching its closing chapters.

Fury vs Joshua: Will It Finally Happen?

Few fights have spent longer in boxing’s “almost” category than Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua. The two British heavyweights have circled one another for years. Contracts have been discussed, dates proposed and venues debated, only for the contest to repeatedly disappear from the calendar.

As of September 18, Cardiff has emerged as the favorite to stage the fight, with the Principality Stadium under consideration for a December showdown. Reports have pointed towards December 11 or 12, although negotiations and logistical details still need to be completed before boxing fans can regard the contest as officially delivered. Fury’s manager Spencer Brown has publicly expressed confidence that the fight will happen.

The location has been one of the biggest complications. Madison Square Garden was previously discussed, while Joshua’s camp has pushed strongly for the contest to remain in Britain.

Would Fury vs Joshua have carried greater sporting significance five years ago? Undoubtedly. But that hardly makes it irrelevant. Fury and Joshua remain two of the most recognisable British boxers of their generation, and their rivalry has never been settled in the only place that truly matters – the ring. If the contracts are finally completed, Fury vs Joshua would remain one of the biggest commercial events British boxing can produce.

Biggest Boxing Matches Still To Come In 2026

The closing months of the year offer considerably more than Canelo and the possibility of Fury-Joshua. Several championship fights and significant domestic contests are already on the schedule.

  • October 3 – Ben Whittaker vs Conor Wallace: Whittaker continues his development in an intriguing light-heavyweight contest.

  • October 17 – Daniel Dubois vs Fabio Wardley II: A major heavyweight rematch with the WBO world title on the line.

  • October 24 – Dalton Smith vs Alberto Puello: Smith challenges for the WBC super-lightweight world championship in Sheffield.

  • October 31 – Canelo Alvarez vs Christian Mbilli: Canelo attempts to regain the WBC super-middleweight crown in Riyadh.

  • November 7 – Joshua Buatsi vs Willy Hutchinson II: Two leading British light-heavyweights renew their rivalry.

  • November 8 – Alycia Baumgardner vs Elif Nur Turhan: Another significant world-title contest on a card featuring several major women’s championship fights.

  • December – Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua: Not officially over the line at the time of writing, but Cardiff is increasingly being discussed as the destination for British boxing’s long-awaited heavyweight blockbuster.

  • December 19 – Anthony Cacace vs Nick Ball: A fascinating all-British world-title fight scheduled for Belfast.

The calendar remains subject to the usual changes, but the combination of heavyweight fights, world championships and major domestic contests gives boxing a strong platform from which to close 2026.

The Emergence Of Zuffa Boxing

One of the biggest developments in boxing this year has not involved a particular fighter at all. It has been the arrival of Zuffa Boxing.

The new promotion was formed by TKO Group Holdings and Sela, with Dana White among the leading figures behind the project. A long-term media deal made Paramount+ the home of Zuffa Boxing events across the United States, Canada and Latin America, with an initial programme of 12 cards planned for 2026.

The ambition extends beyond simply promoting another collection of boxing shows. Zuffa is attempting to apply some of the lessons behind the UFC’s growth to boxing: regular events, recognisable branding, simpler narratives and a promotional structure designed to make it easier for casual viewers to understand which fighters matter and why particular contests are significant.

Its arrival has already become increasingly difficult to ignore. Zuffa staged Ryan Garcia vs Conor Benn in Las Vegas in September and is expanding internationally, including a London event at the Copper Box Arena.

Whether Zuffa can fundamentally change boxing is another question. Unlike MMA, boxing has a deeply established ecosystem of promoters, sanctioning organisations, broadcasters and influential managers. Those competing interests are simultaneously part of the sport’s history and one of the reasons major fights can be so frustratingly difficult to make.

Zuffa therefore faces an enormous challenge if its objective is to simplify the landscape. But its financial power, media backing and promotional experience mean it cannot easily be dismissed as another short-lived entrant into the boxing business.

What Boxing Betting Markets Can I Bet On?

The main boxing betting markets are Moneyline, fight outcome, round betting and total rounds.

Money Line – The money line is betting on which fighter will win the fight. It does not matter if they win by knockout, decision or disqualification. As long as you select the winning fighter your bet is a winner.

Fight Outcome – This market requires you to select a method of victory for the winning fighter, so not only do you have to successfully pick the winner, you will also have to correctly predict how they will win. There are two options per fighter – KO, TKO or Disqualification and Decision or Technical Decision. Should you fancy the fight to go to a draw, you can also predict a Draw or Technical Draw as the outcome. This market will offer bigger odds than the money line due to the added risk.

Round Betting – This market requires you to select a single round or a group of rounds in which the fight will end. The Round Betting market can be entered in one of two ways. You can select a fighter to win in a specific round or you can back either man to win in a specific round. For example, you could get +1200 on Saul Alvarez to beat Billy Joe Saunders in Round 9 or +1100 on either man to win the fight in Round 9.

For those of you not looking to narrow that bet down to one round, there is the option of Round Group Betting that sees Sportsbooks split the fight into groups of rounds, usually four groups of three rounds. So, as an example, you could get +400 on Saul Alvarez to beat Billy Joe Saunders in Rounds 7-9, while it was +375 that either man won the fight between the start of Round 7 and end of Round 9.

Total Rounds – This market allows bettors to bet on the total amount of rounds there will be in the fight. The sportsbook will set a line, let’s say 9.5 rounds, and you can bet on the total rounds in the fight going over or under that total. The winner of the fight does not need to be selected in this market.

Are There Any Boxing Betting Promotions?

Of course there are boxing betting promotions. Boxing remains one of the most popular sports for betting on around the world and boxing betting promotions will be made available from licensed bookmakers throughout the year, depending on the size and stature of the fight.

These vary in type, with some offering customers the opportunity to insure their bets and others offering the chanced to claim enhanced winnings and bonuses.

So whichever bookmaker you place your bets with, check out the bookmaker promotions section in order to find out what boxing betting promotions are available to you. And if you are looking for a new bookmaker to place your boxing bets with, check out our review section here.
