Iowa at Washington Predictions & Picks

Iowa are tipped to cover as a betting underdog in this Friday night matchup.

The Hawkeyes defense has been in outstanding form, despite giving up 31 points to Ohio State last weekend, and it can get back to its suffocating ways in Washington.

Pair that with the Huskies’ spread struggles and those free points become very appealing.
  • Iowa are 3-2-0 ATS this season
  • Iowa are 6-1-0 ATS in their last 7 games as a betting underdog
  • Washington are 0-5-0 ATS this season
  • The Under has cashed in 4 of Iowa’s 5 games so far

Head To Head

  • Iowa lead the all-time series 4-3
  • Iowa won 40-16 when the two teams last met in October 2024

Iowa Form

Iowa head to Washington on the back of their first defeat of the season, which dropped them to 4-1.

The Hawkeyes opened the season with three consecutive non-conference games, and posted a couple of shutouts as they won all three.

They kicked things off with a 40-0 blowout of Northern Illinois, and backed that up by beating rivals Iowa State 16-13 and Northern Iowa 55-0.

Iowa then made it four-in-a-row in their road opener, as they rolled into the ‘Big House’ to stun Michigan 20-19.

The Hawkeyes failed to make it to 5-0 in though, as they were beaten 31-14 at home by Ohio State last weekend.

Washington Form

Washington return home looking to rebound from the back-to-back losses that have left them 3-2.

The Huskies faced Pac-12 opposition on back-to-back weekends to start the season, and came out on top in both matchups as they beat Washington State 24-10 and Utah State 16-14.

They then made it three-in-a-row as they blew out Eastern Washington at home, winning 48-16.

Washington have not won since though, instead opening their Big Ten campaign with consecutive losses.

The Huskies were beaten 27-24 at home by Minnesota, before suffering a 25-21 road defeat to USC last weekend.

Verdict

Iowa’s knack for keeping things close was not on show last weekend, but there was certainly no shame in losing by a couple of touchdowns to a contender in Ohio State.

We expect the Hawkeyes to get back to what they do best on Friday night, ensuring they cover the spread as an underdog.
