South Carolina head to ‘Death Valley’ riding a five-game win streak that has improved their record to 8-3.
The Gamecocks opened went 3-3 over their first six games of the season, with all three of those defeats coming against ranked SEC opposition.
They have not lost since the 27-25 defeat to Alabama though, embarking on a run of five consecutive victories that includes multiple wins over ranked teams.
South Carolina started this tear with a 35-9 win at Oklahoma, and followed that up with a 44-20 win over Texas A&M and a 28-7 success against Vanderbilt.
The Gamecocks then downed Missouri 34-30, before taking their win streak to five games with last weekend’s 56-12 victory over Wofford.
Clemson Form
Clemson go into this matchup knowing that, with a record of 9-2, they must beat South Carolina to have a shot at making the ACC Championship Game.
The Tigers opened the season with a 34-3 blowout loss at the hands of Georgia, but rallied to win their next six games.
That run came to a halt at the start of November though, as they suffered a 33-21 defeat to Louisville that put a huge dent in their chances of making the conference championship.
Clemson rallied a week later with a 24-14 victory at Virginia Tech, and backed that up with a 24-20 victory when they visited Pitt.
The Tigers then made it three wins in a row with a 51-14 win against The Citadel last weekend.
