Buffalo Bills at Houston Texans Predictions & Picks

Buffalo are tipped to cover as they win on the road in Houston.

The Bills defense can cause plenty of problems for CJ Stroud, while Josh Allen leans on the run game and also turns to new number one receiver DJ Moore in critical moments.

  • All 13 of Buffalo Bills’ wins last season were by 2+ points
  • Houston Texans have failed to cover in their last 3 season openers
  • The Under has cashed in 4 of the previous 5 meetings

Head To Head

  • Houston Texans lead the all-time series 7-5
  • Houston Texans won 23-19 when the two teams last met in November 2025

Buffalo Bills Form

Buffalo once again came up short in the playoffs last time around, costing Sean McDermott his job as head coach.

Once again the Bills went into a campaign as a leading contender to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy, and they made a strong start as they won six of their first eight games.

They then wobbled in November, losing a couple of road games, but rebounded with a 5-1 run to close out the regular season with a 12-5 record.

Buffalo then fended off Jacksonville in the Wild Card round, 27-24, only to bow out in the Divisional round as they lost 33-30 in overtime in Denver.

The Bills warmed up for the new season by going 3-0 in pre-season, sandwiching a 31-7 victory in Cleveland with home wins over Carolina, 29-14, and Pittsburgh, 28-27.

Houston Texans Form

Houston enter the new season with their sights set on another run in the postseason, having bowed out in the Divisional round last time around.

The Texans made a miserable start to the season as they lost their first three games, and found themselves sitting at 3-5 in early November.

They got hot after that though, reeling off nine consecutive wins to finish second in the AFC South with a 12-5 record.

Houston then blew out Pittsburgh in the Wild Card round, winning 30-6, only to lose 28-15 when they visited New England a week later.

The Texans go into the new campaign having lost all three preseason matchups, falling 27-7 to the Los Angeles Chargers, 22-20 to Las Vegas, and 16-13 in Carolina.

Verdict

Our Verdict
Houston have been something of a bogey team to Buffalo in recent years, but we are backing the Bills to exorcise a few demons here.

In what is likely to be a close game, we are backing Josh Allen to make more plays than CJ Stroud as the Bills escape with the dub.
