BC Lions at Calgary Stampeders Predictions & Picks

Calgary are tipped to cover the spread as they bounce back from last week’s defeat.

The Stampeders have blown hot and cold so far this season, but they have already beaten the Lions on the road this season, and they are now hosting a BC team that has struggled on its travels.

  • Calgary Stampeders won by 8 points in British Columbia on June 27
  • BC Lions are 1-3 on the road this season
  • Calgary Stampeders 4-0-0 ATS in their 4 wins this season
  • The Over cashed in the previous meeting this season

Head To Head

  • Calgary Stampeders lead the all-time series 98-72-4
  • Calgary Stampeders won 41-33 when the two teams last met on June 27

BC Lions Form

BC head to Calgary in their best form of the season so far, having won back-to-back games to improve to 3-5.

The Lions opened the campaign with back-to-back road games at fell 31-27 at Saskatchewan and 41-27 in Hamilton.

They then dropped the home opener to Calgary, 41-33, before finally getting off the mark in early July as they took down Edmonton, 36-24.

BC failed to build on that as they were beaten 19-17 in Edmonton and 26-12 at home by Toronto, but they have rallied in recent weeks.

The Lions got back to winning ways with a 35-17 success in Winnipeg, and backed that up last Saturday as they returned home to down Hamilton, 27-24.

Calgary Stampeders Form

Calgary enter this game looking to rebound from last week’s defeat in Toronto, which dropped them to 4-5.

Just like their opponents on Thursday, the Stampeders also opened with back-to-back defeats as they fell 30-28 to Winnipeg and 40-37 in overtime to Saskatchewan.

They did not have to wait as long for their first wins though, as they backed up a 41-33 victory at BC with a 58-36 success at home to Toronto.

Calgary’s run was ended by a couple of defeats to Montreal – 37-30 on the road and 38-32 at home – but they avoided a third straight loss as they downed Winnipeg on the road, 52-30.

The Stampeders backed that up by beating Hamilton 44-20 on their travels, only to then lose 33-30 in Toronto last time out.
