Winnipeg Blue Bombers Form

Winnipeg head to Edmonton looking to back up last week’s victory, which improved their record to 5-4.

The Blue Bombers enjoyed a winning start to the season as they downed Calgary on the road, 30-28, but they failed to back that up as they then dropped back-to-back games at home, losing 37-27 to Hamilton and 23-18 to Edmonton.

They rallied over the next three weeks, sandwiching a 30-21 home win against Toronto with road successes at Hamilton, 14-13, and Ottawa, 36-34 in overtime.

Winnipeg’s form stalled after that, as they went into the bye week on the back of home defeats to Calgary, 52-30, and the BC Lions, 35-19, but they did rebound last time out.

The Blue Bombers notched their fifth win of the season as they beat Ottawa at home, 33-21.

Edmonton Elks Form

Edmonton enter this matchup having also ended a two-game losing sequence last weekend, taking their record to 7-3.

The Elks kicked off the campaign with three straight victories, sandwiching a 32-29 overtime win against Montreal with road successes at Ottawa, 29-21, and Winnipeg, 23-18.

Their winning start was ended by a 36-24 defeat at the BC Lions, but they responded to that setback in strong fashion.

Edmonton rebounded with a 40-17 blowout of Ottawa at home, and backed that up by beating the Lions 19-17 at home and Saskatchewan 36-34 on the road.

The Elks then fell 28-26 to Saskatchewan and 48-30 in Montreal, only to get back on track last weekend as they crushed Toronto, 42-12.
