New Mexico State at Florida State Predictions & Picks

Florida State are tipped to cover as they make a winning start to the season.

The Seminoles are unlikely to have many issues stacking up points and pulling away from a New Mexico State team that struggled massively on offense last season.

  • Florida State were 4-1-0 ATS as a double digit favorite at home last season
  • The Under has cashed in 5 of Florida State’s last 6 games dating back to last season

Head To Head

  • Florida State lead the all-time series 1-0
  • Florida State won 36-0 when the two teams last met in October 1964

New Mexico State Form

New Mexico State won just two conference games and only four matchups overall during the 2025 campaign.

The Aggies opened with back-to-back non-conference wins, beating Bryant 19-3 and Tulsa 21-14, only to then lose their Conference USA opener to Louisiana Tech, 49-14.

They rebounded in their next conference game to beat Sam Houston 37-10, but they failed to follow that up and lost their next four games.

New Mexico State’s skid reached five games with a 42-9 non-conference blowout at Tennessee, before they finally ended their losing run with a 34-31 win at UTEP.

The Aggies’ joy was short-lived though, as they closed out the campaign with a 31-24 loss to Middle Tennessee State.

Florida State Form

Florida State enter the new season looking to rebound from a miserable 2025 campaign that saw them win just five of their games and only two in the ACC.

The Seminoles made a sensational start as they upset Alabama on opening weekend, 31-17, and they backed that up with a couple of blowouts of minor schools.

However, they made a terrible start to their conference campaign as they lost four straight games, falling 46-38 at Virginia, 28-22 to Miami, 34-31 to Pitt and 20-13 at Stanford.

Florida State stopped the rot with a 42-7 demolition of Wake Forest, only to quickly return to losing ways as they fell 24-10 at Clemson.

The Seminoles responded by beating Virginia Tech 34-14, but they immediately returned to losing ways and ended the season losing 21-11 at NC State and 40-21 at Florida.
