North Carolina vs TCU Predictions & Picks

TCU are tipped to cover as they beat North Carolina in Dublin.

The Horned Frogs wrecked Bill Belichick’s college football debut a year ago, and little has gone right for the NFL legend and his programme since that night.

TCU are the more settled group and that could be huge for a big overseas trip like this.

  • TCU beat North Carolina by 34 points last season
  • TCU are 6-1-0 ATS in their previous 7 games
  • North Carolina went 4-8 in Bill Belichick’s debut season
  • The last 3 college football games in Dublin produced under 47.5 total points

Head To Head

  • North Carolina lead the all-time series 3-1
  • TCU won 48-14 when the two teams last met in August 2025

North Carolina Form

Bill Belichick enters his second season in college football looking to significantly improve on a 2025 campaign that saw North Carolina lose eight of their 12 games.

The Tar Heels were blown out at home in the season opener, falling 48-14 to TCU, and went 2-2 in non-conference action to start the season.

They then dropped their first three games on the ACC slate, sandwiching a 21-18 defeat in California with home losses to Clemson, 21-18, and Virginia, 17-16 in overtime.

North Carolina finally snapped their skid with a 27-10 win at Syracuse, and followed that up with a 20-15 victory at home to Stanford.

The Tar Heels failed to keep that run going though, wrapping up the season with a three-game slump that saw then lose 28-12 at Wake Forest, 32-25 by Duke and 42-19 at NC State.

TCU Form

TCU recorded their season straight nine-win season in 2025, winning the Alamo Bowl to close out that campaign.

The Horned Frogs ruined Bill Belichick’s debut in college football by blowing out North Carolina on the road in the season opener, 48-14.

They then won two more non-conference games before making a disappointing start to the Big 12 schedule, winning just one of their first three games.

TCU rallied to beat Baylor 42-36 and West Virginia 23-17, only to then lose 2017 to Iowa State and 44-13 to BYU.

The Horned Frogs finished the regular season strong though, beating Houston 17-14 and Cincinnati 45-23, and then downed USC in overtime in the Alamo Bowl, 30-27.
