San Jose State at USC Predictions & Picks

USC are tipped to open the season with a blowout victory over San Jose State.

The Trojans are returning quarterback Jayden Maiavia and his entire offensive line from 2025, and that high-powered passing attack can light up the Spartans in a one-sided win.

  • USC have won all 6 of the previous meetings
  • San Jose State went 1-6-0 ATS in their final 7 games in 2025
  • The Over has cashed in 5 of USC’s previous 7 home games

Head To Head

  • USC lead the all-time series 6-0
  • USC won 56-28 when the two teams last met in August 2023

San Jose State Form

San Jose State enter the new season looking to fare better than they did in 2025, when they won just three of their 12 games.

The Spartans opened the season with three non-conference losses in four games, but opened their Mountain West schedule with a 35-28 success against New Mexico.

They failed to build on that though, as they dropped back-to-back games on the road, losing 35-28 at Wyoming and 30-25 in Utah State.

San Jose rallied to down Hawaii at home, 45-38, but that proved to be their final win of the season as they wrapped up the campaign with four consecutive defeats.

The Spartans lost 26-15 to Air Force, 55-10 at Nevada, 25-3 at San Diego State and 41-14 to Fresno.

USC Form

USC come into the new campaign looking to challenge for the Big Ten Championship in 2026.

The Trojans made a flying start to the conference campaign last year as they beat Purdue 33-17 and Michigan State 45-31, only to suffer a costly 34-32 setback at Illinois.

They rebounded with a 31-13 upset of Michigan, and then answered a non-conference loss to Notre Dame by winning three straight Big Ten games, downing Nebraska 21-17, Northwestern 38-17 and Iowa 26-21.

USC’s run – and conference championship hopes – were shattered in late November though, as they suffered a 42-27 defeat in Oregon.

The Trojans wrapped up the regular season with a 29-10 defeat to UCLA, before suffering Bowl Game disappointment as they lost 30-27 to TCU in the Alamo Bowl.
