Saskatchewan Roughriders at Winnipeg Blue Bombers Predictions & Picks

Saskatchewan are tipped to cover a small spread as they beat Banjo Bowl rivals Winnipeg for the second weekend in a row.

You could make a case for either team following last week’s classic, which was settled in overtime, but the Roughriders did take it and they have had the edge on the Blue Bombers recently.

  • Saskatchewan Roughriders are 3-1 in the last 4 meetings
  • Saskatchewan Roughriders are 6-2-0 ATS in their 8 wins this season
  • Winnipeg Blue Bombers are 1-5-0 ATS in their 6 defeats
  • The Over cashed when these two teams met last weekend

Head To Head

  • Winnipeg Blue Bombers lead the all-time series 85-65
  • Saskatchewan Roughriders won 32-26 when the two teams last met on September 6

Saskatchewan Roughriders Form

Saskatchewan head out on the road with an 8-4 record, and looking for their first three-game win streak of the season.

The Roughriders made a strong start to the season as they won four of their first five games to go into the bye week with a healthy record.

They returned to action with a 36-34 defeat to Edmonton, but avenged that loss with a 28-26 road win a week later, and backed that up by beating Ottawa 42-20 at home.

Saskatchewan failed to make it three-in-a-row, losing 26-19 at Hamilton and 30-16 at the BC Lions, but have rebounded over the past couple of weeks.

The Roughriders got back on track with a 28-24 win over Toronto, and then fended off a Winnipeg fightback to win 32-26 in overtime last weekend.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers Form

Winnipeg return home having now lost four of their previous six games to fall to 6-6 on the season.

The Blue Bombers dropped two of their first three games, but kick-started their playoff quest with a three-game win streak in July.

They sandwiched a 30-21 victory at home to Toronto with road wins at Hamilton, 14-13, and Ottawa, 36-34 in overtime.

Winnipeg’s run was halted by a 52-30 defeat to Calgary, and they then fell to a 35-19 defeat to the BC Lions before going on a rollercoaster run over the past few weeks.

The Blue Bombers beat Ottawa 33-21, lost 22-19 at Edmonton, beat Montreal 44-28 and lost 32-26 in overtime at Saskatchewan.

Verdict

Our Verdict
It took overtime to settle the Banjo Bowl a week ago, and we could see another close matchup here.

We are leaning towards Saskatchewan – current form and their recent record against the Blue Bombers is in their favor.
