Calgary Stampeders at Edmonton Elks Predictions & Picks

Edmonton are tipped to repeat last Monday’s win over Calgary.

The Elks overcame a sloppy start with a fourth-quarter surge, and they can pick up from where they left off in the rematch.

  • Edmonton Elks are 9-3 this season
  • Edmonton Elks are 9-3-0 ATS this season
  • Edmonton Elks are 6-2 in the previous 8 meetings
  • The Under has cashed in 5 of Edmonton’s 6 home games

Head To Head

  • Edmonton Elks lead the all-time series 98-84-2
  • Edmonton Elks won 38-28 when the two teams last met on September 7

Calgary Stampeders Form

Calgary head to Edmonton on the back of their seventh loss of the season, and in desperate need of a win as they try to keep their fading playoff hopes alive.

The Stampeders dropped four of their first six games of the season to dig themselves into an early hole, but rallied at the end of July with back-to-back wins on the road.

They travelled to Winnipeg to knock off the Blue Bombers, 52-30, before heading to Hamilton to beat the Tiger Cats, 44-20.

Calgary failed to keep that run going though, as they were beaten 33-30 in Toronto before falling 30-26 at home to the BC Lions.

The Stampeders were then unable to back up a 28-23 win over Hamilton as they lost 38-28 to Edmonton.

Edmonton Elks Form

Edmonton continue to hold top spot in the division thanks to a three-game win streak that has improved their record to 9-3.

The Elks raced out of the blocks with a three-game win streak, and then responded to a defeat in early July with another three-game surge.

That run was halted by a 28-26 home defeat to Saskatchewan, and it became back-to-back defeats a week later as they were downed 48-30 in Montreal.

Edmonton have not lost since though, sparking this latest three-game win streak with a 42-12 blowout of Toronto.

The Elks backed that up at home by beating Winnipeg 22-19, before heading to Calgary to beat the Stampeders 38-28.

Verdict

Our Verdict
Edmonton were guilty of an extremely slow start a week ago, but we are not expecting lightning to strike twice.

The Elks have been one of the best teams in the CFL so far this season, and can cover as they notch their 10th win on Saturday.
