Toronto Argonauts at Hamilton Tiger-Cats Predictions & Picks

Toronto are tipped to cover as they win the Labor Day Classic on the road.

The Argonauts’ recent road form has been rough, but the absence of Bo Levi Mitchell is a massive blow for struggling Hamilton, and the visitors can take full advantage.

  • Toronto Argonauts are 3-2 in their last 5 games
  • Hamilton Tiger-Cats are 2-7 in their previous 9 games
  • Toronto beat Hamilton by 19 points back on August 22
  • The Over has cashed in 6 of the last 7 meetings

Head To Head

  • Hamilton Tiger-Cats lead the all-time series 100-94-2
  • Toronto Argonauts won 39-20 when the two teams last met on August 22

Toronto Argonauts Form

Toronto head out on the road having won three of their previous five games to improve their record to 5-6.

The Argonauts made a slow start to the season as they lost four of their first six games, but their form has improved over the past few weeks to lift them to second in the division despite the losing record.

They sparked the turnaround on the road as they downed the BC Lions 26-12 to go into their second bye week on a positive note.

Toronto built on that when they returned to action, beating Calgary 33-30 at home, only to then suffer a 42-12 blowout loss when they visited Edmonton a week later.

The Argonauts rebounded to beat Hamilton 39-20 at home, but they were unable to make it back-to-back wins last weekend as they fell 28-24 in Saskatchewan.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats Form

Hamilton go into this matchup on the back of their seventh loss in nine games, but despite a 4-8 record they are still in the playoff mix.

The Tiger-Cats rallied from an opening day defeat with back-to-back wins, only to then struggle badly following their first bye week of the season.

They lost 14-13 to Winnipeg and 38-7 at Saskatchewan, and then failed to back up a 24-23 win over Toronto as they lost three straight.

Hamilton sandwiched a 44-20 defeat at home to Calgary with road losses at the hands of Montreal, 31-18, and the BC Lions, 27-24.

The Tiger-Cats rallied with a 26-29 upset of Saskatchewan, only to then lose 39-20 at Toronto and 28-23 in Calgary.

Verdict

Our Verdict
Toronto have not travelled well this season, but Hamilton are in serious trouble right now.

The losses are stacking up and they are without Mitchell for this matchup, so we are backing the Argonauts to deliver here.
