What eSports Betting Markets Can I Bet On?
eSports betting markets vary by game but here are some of the main ones you can expect to see for the most popular leagues:
Money Line - The money line is betting on which team will win the game. Ties are not possible in esports, so the moneyline is a two-way market in which you bet on one team to win.
Spread - The spread market is more also known as a handicap. Bookmakers will assign one team a positive (+) or negative (-) spread, line or handicap depending on favoritism for the game, and the bettor bets to cover the line.
Let’s use an Esports game between Nordavind and gorillazzz on Counter Strike as an example. If gorillazzz start with a +1.5 point spread and you bet on gorillazzz, they need to win the game or lose by less than 2 points in order for your bet to win.
On the other side of the coin, Nordavind would be assigned a -1.5 point spread meaning they would need to win by 2 or more points in order for your bet on the Nordavind to be a winner.
Map Betting - Some games are played out on maps. Each match will contain multiple maps and you can bet on selected ones. You can bet on who will win it, what the correct score will be and / or total rounds.
Futures - This betting market is for the outright tournament itself. You are not betting on a specific matchup during the competition, you are betting on who will crowned the tournament winner/champion.
