Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants Preview & Picks – Giants To Cover In Big NFL Divisional Clash

Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants Preview & Picks

New York are backed to cover as a home betting underdog.

This is likely to be a closely-contested game and the league-wide trend is for home underdogs to cover in Week 1 divisional games.

  • New York were 6-2-0 ATS at home last season
  • The home underdog is 15-2-0 ATS in the last 17 divisional Week 1 games
  • The Under cashed in 5 of New York’s 9 home games last season
  • 3 of the last 5 meetings have produced under 46.5 total points

Head To Head

  • Dallas Cowboys lead the all-time series 73-47-2
  • Dallas Cowboys won 28-20 when the teams last met in November 2022

Dallas Cowboys Form

Dallas come into their season opener looking to embark on another run to the postseason.

The Cowboys made it to the playoffs last time around by compiling a 12-5 record to finish second in the NFC East behind Philadelphia.

They lost their season opener at home to Tampa Bay, 19-3, but quickly rebounded to win 10 of their next 12 games.

Dallas then went 2-2 over their final four games of the regular season, but that did not prevent them from advancing to the Wildcard round.

There the Cowboys avenged their Week 1 loss to the Bucs, winning 31-14, but a week later their season came to an end with a 19-12 defeat at San Francisco.

New York Giants Form

New York enjoyed a successful first season under Brian Daboll, going 9-7-1 to make it to the playoffs.

The Giants made a fantastic start to the campaign as they won six of their first seven games, but their form nose-dived after a post-bye week win against Houston.

They lost five of their last eight games and tied 20-20 at home to Washington, but a couple of late-season wins against the Commanders and Indianapolis saw them over the line.

New York then ensured Daboll would enjoy a playoff win in his first season as a head coach, upsetting Minnesota 31-24 on the road.

The Giants were unable to follow that up a week later though, as they were comfortably beaten by division rivals Philadelphia, 38-7.
