Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants Predictions & Picks

Dallas are tipped to cover as they kick off the season with a big road win in the NFC East.

Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens can punish on a soft Giants secondary, while the Cowboys pass rush causes all sorts of problems for Jaxson Dart behind a questionable O-line.

  • Dallas Cowboys are 9-1 in the last 10 meetings
  • Dallas Cowboys are 7-2-0 ATS in their last 9 wins over New York
  • The Over has cashed in each of the previous 3 meetings

Head To Head

  • Dallas Cowboys lead the all-time series 78-48-2
  • New York Giants won 34-17 when the two teams last met on January 4

Dallas Cowboys Form

Dallas enter the new campaign looking to rebound from a hugely disappointing 2025 campaign that saw them finish with a losing record and miss out on the playoffs.

The Cowboys won just three of their first nine games, and despite a little rally in November, they closed out the campaign with four defeats in their final five games.

Their 7-9-1 record did not cost Brian Schottenheimer his job, but if they get off to a slow start this season he could soon find himself on the hotseat.

Dallas come into the season opener having won two of their three pre-season outings.

The Cowboys beat Seattle 17-7 and Arizona 34-13 on the road, before returning home for a 27-24 defeat at the hands of New Orleans.

New York Giants Form

New York have undergone major coaching changes after winning just four of their games last season.

The pressure was on Giants head coach Brian Daboll heading into the season, and he was given his marching orders after a late collapse in Chicago left them 2-8.

That was their fifth straight defeat, and that losing skid reached nine games before they finally snapped that sequence with back-to-back wins to close out the season.

New York moved quickly in the offseason to name John Harbaugh as the new head coach, and he has brought in Matt Nagy as his offensive co-ordinator from Kansas City.

The Giants warmed up for the new season by going 1-2 in pre-season, rebounding from a 13-10 home loss to Minnesota with home wins against Miami, 26-3, and the New York Jets, 23-6.

Verdict

Our Verdict
New York have undergone some significant changes, but there are still concerns in areas of the roster that Dallas can exploit.

The Cowboys have a few holes themselves, but the trio of Prescott, Lamb and Pickens can make up for that as the visitors get off to a winning start.
