Montreal Alouettes at BC Lions Predictions & Picks

BC Lions are tipped to cover as a betting underdog at home.

The Lions lost to Montreal last time out, but with the Alouettes already into the playoffs and pretty much locked into the top seed, the hosts have more incentive in this matchup.

  • BC Lions are 6-2-0 ATS in the last 8 meetings
  • BC Lions are 5-2 in their last 7 games
  • Both of Montreal Alouettes’ 2 defeats have come on the road
  • The Over cashed when the two teams met last week

Head To Head

  • BC Lions lead the all-time series 50-36
  • Montreal Alouettes won 37-30 when the two teams last met on September 4

Montreal Alouettes Form

Montreal head out on the road already knowing they will be playing postseason football this year, having just recorded their 10th win.

The Alouettes dropped a game early in the campaign, but responded with a seven-game win streak to put themselves on the brink of the playoffs.

They beat Ottawa 37-35 at home, then won back-to-back meetings with Calgary 37-30 at home and 38-32 on the road, before downing Hamilton at home 31-18.

Montreal’s run continued as they sandwiched a 48-30 win over Edmonton with 34-13 and 46-16 victories against Ottawa, before finally ending with a 44-28 defeat in Winnipeg.

The Alouettes issued an immediate response though, as they took down the BC Lions at home last week, 37-30.

BC Lions Form

BC return home looking to avenge last week’s road defeat to Montreal, which ended a five-game win streak and dropped them to 6-6.

The Lions limped out of the blocks with three consecutive defeats, and found themselves in trouble in late July as they sat at 1-5.

They ended the month with a 35-19 win in Winnipeg however, and that proved to be the spark they needed to kick-start their season.

BC went on to beat Hamilton 27-24, Calgary 30-26, Saskatchewan 30-16 and Ottawa 45-24 as part of a five-game surge.

The Lions’ run was ended last week though, as they were beaten 37-30 by the Alouettes in Montreal.

Verdict

Our Verdict
Montreal took the bragging rights a week ago, but it is the Lions who have more to play for here.

BC still have plenty of work to do in their playoff quest, unlike the Alouettes, so give us the motivated Lions and the free points at home.
