Jake Paul enters this bout with a professional record of 12-1, with seven of his victories coming via knockout.
Paul made his professional boxing debut in 2020, knocking out fellow social media star AnEsonGib in 78 seconds, and he followed that up with a second-round stoppage of former NBA player Nate Robinson.
From there he faced his first opponent with professional combat sports experience in Ben Askren, and took out the ex-MMA fighter in just under two minutes.
‘The Problem Child’ then won back-to-back fights with former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, beating him via split decision and then by sixth-round knockout.
Paul then beat another former UFC champion when he beat the legendary Anderson Silva in points, only to see his perfect run end when he dropped a split decision to Tommy Fury in February 2023.
He rebounded from that loss with a points win over ex-UFC star Nate Diaz, and then recorded back-to-back first-round knockouts of Andre August and Ryan Bourland.
The 28-year-old American followed up those quickfire wins with a sixth-round knockout of Bare Knuckle fighter Mike Perry last year, before beating former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson on points several months later.
In his only fight of this year so far, Paul beat former world middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez by unanimous decision.
Anthony Joshua Form
Anthony Joshua is a former world heavyweight champion with a career record of 28-4, with 25 wins coming by knockout.
Joshua entered the pro ranks in 2013 and quickly climbed the ladder, reeling off a host of quick knockout wins on his way to international and commonwealth titles.
He then knocked out Dillian Whyte in the seventh round in December 2015 to claim the British crown, and that was enough to earn him his first world title fight.
In only his 16th professional outing, the 36-year-old Englishman took out Charles Martin in the second round to win the IBF title.
Joshua successfully defended that crown by stopping Dominic Breazeale in the seventh and Eric Molina in the third, before adding the WBA (Super) and IBO titles with an 11th round knockout of the legendary Wladmir Klitschko in a memorable showdown at Wembley Stadium.
He then knocked out Carlos Takam in the 10th to retain those titles, and added the WBO belt to his collection with a unanimous decision win over Joseph Parker in March 2018.
‘AJ’ then knocked out Alexander Povetkin to retain all of those belts, but his next fight ended in a stunning upset as his US debut was ruined by a seventh-round knockout at the hands of Andy Ruiz Jr.
Joshua regained the titles several months later with a points win over Ruiz Jr, and he retained them in 2020 by stopping Kubrat Pulev in the seventh.
That would prove to be his last successful outing as a heavyweight champion though, as he lost his next two fights with Oleksandr Usyk, one via unanimous decision and one by split decision.
He rebounded with a unanimous decision win over Jermaine Frankle, and then stopped Robert Helenius in the seventh, Otto Wallin in the fifth and Francis Ngannou in the second.
Those wins set up an IBF world title fight with Daniel Dubois in September of last year, but his bid to become a three-time world champion ended in failure as he was stopped in the fifth.
Verdict
There is no doubting that Anthony Joshua is not the fighter that he once was, but he is still many, many levels above Jake Paul.
