The Roughriders did cool off after a red-hot start to the season, but they still boast the league’s best record and they routinely covered the spread away from Saskatchewan.

Saskatchewan Roughriders Form
Saskatchewan have won 13 of their 19 games this season to secure their first Grey Cup appearance since 2013.
The Roughriders made a flying start to the season as they won their first four games, before seeing their run finally end with a 24-10 defeat to Calgary.
They rebounded immediately with another four-game win streak that was again ended by the Stampeders, this time by a score o4 32-15 on the road, and following that loss they failed to regain the consistency they showed during the first half of the campaign.
Saskatchewan won back-to-back meetings with Winnipeg, 34-30 at home and 21-13 on the road, only to then lose consecutive games, 48-31 to Montreal and 27-25 at Edmonton.
The Roughriders rallied by beating Ottawa 20-13 and Toronto 27-19, only to drop their final two regular season games, 17-16 at Winnipeg and 27-21 to the BC Lions.
They had done more than enough to earn a playoff bye though, and when they returned to action they beat the Lions 24-21 in the West Final to secure their Grey Cup berth.
Montreal Alouettes Form
Montreal earned their first Grey Cup appearance since 2023 by winning 12 of their 20 games this season.
The Alouettes made a fast start as they won their first three games, but they dropped their next two and that rollercoaster form continued during the regular season.
They rallied to beat Toronto 26-25 and Calgary 23-21, only to then go on and lose their next five games, starting with a 34-6 blowout defeat to Saskatchewan.
Montreal then lost 23-22 to Edmonton, 36-18 to the BC Lions, 26-13 to Winnipeg and 26-9 to Hamilton, before finally stopping the rot with a 48-31 success against Saskatchewan.
The Alouettes backed that up by beating Toronto 21-19 and Calgary 38-20, before winning back-to-back meetings with Ottawa, 30-10 at home and 39-28 on the road.
They lost their regular season finale in Winnipeg, 19-10, but they have rebounded in the playoffs with a 42-33 win over the Blue Bombers and a 19-16 victory at Hamilton to reach the championship game.
Verdict
Montreal have been in great form over the past several weeks, but Saskatchewan have been the cream of the crop in the CFL this season.
They won more games than any other team and were tremendous on their travels, so we are siding with the Roughriders.
