UFC light-heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira is riding a six-fight win streak into UFC 275.
Teixeira was seemingly relegated to gatekeeper status when he lost three of his fight fights between 2016 and 2018.
However, the now 42-year-old Brazilian has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years that has taken him all the way to the top of the 205lb division.
The streak started with a first-round submission win over Karl Robinson, and continued when he tapped out Ion Cutelaba in the second round.
Teixeira then earned a split decision win over Nikita Krylov to make it three-in-a-row.
He then brutalised Anthony Smith for almost five rounds to win four consecutive fights for the first time since 2013.
The streak did not stop there though, as he tapped out Thiago Santos in the third round to complete a perfect 2020.
That was enough to earn Teixeira a crack at the light-heavyweight title last year, and he took his big chance by submitting Jan Blachowicz in the second round.
That victory left Teixeira with a 33-7 record, with 18 wins coming by knockout and 10 via submission.
Of his seven career defeats, three of them have come via knockout and four by decision.
Jiri Prochazka Form
Jiri Prochazka has surged into light-heavyweight title contention with back-to-back wins in the UFC.
The 29-year-old Czech star made his name on the Japanese MMA circuit while fighting for the Rizin promotion.
In April 2019 he became the Rizin light-heavyweight champion when he knocked out Muhammed Lawal in the third round, avenging his first-round knockout loss to King Mo in December 2015.
Prochazka then knocked out Fabio Maldonado in the first round of a catchweight fight before defending his belt for the first time.
His first defence proved to be a successful one as he stopped CB Dollaway with strikes in round one.
That would prove to be Prochazka’s only defence of the Rizin crown as he put pen-to-paper on a deal with the UFC.
He made his debut in July 2020 by knocking out Volkan Oezdemir to extend his streak of nine straight KO wins.
That became 10 in May of 2021 when he knocked out Dominick Reyes in the second round.
That victory left Prochazka with a 28-3-1 professional record, with 25 of his wins coming via KO/TKO and two by submission.
Of his three career defeats, two have come by knockout and one has been via submission.
