What NBA Finals Betting Markets Can I Bet On?
The main NBA Finals betting markets are to win championship, moneyline, spread, over / under total points and player props.
To Win Championship - This market is simply betting on who will be crowned world champions at the end of the NBA Finals. You do not have to successfully predict the series result, just who wins it. There will be an alternate market that allows you to bet on the series result – 4-0, 4-3 etc.
Money Line - The money line is betting on which team will win the game. There is no option for a draw in the NBA, with teams going to overtime if the score is tied at the end of regulation, so the moneyline is a two-way market in which you bet on one team to win, and it includes overtime.
Spread - The spread market is more also known as a handicap. Bookmakers will assign one team a positive (+) or negative (-) spread, line or handicap depending on favoritism for the game, and the bettor bets to cover the line.
Let’s use an NBA game between the Philadelphia 76ers and Utah Jazz as an example. If the 76ers start with a +3.5 point spread and you bet on the 76ers, they need to win the game or lose by less than 4 points in order for your bet to win.
On the other side of the coin, the Jazz would be assigned a -3.5 point spread meaning they would need to win by 4 or more points in order for your bet on the Nuggets to be a winner.
Over / Under Total Points - This NBA Finals betting market allows bettors to bet on the total amount of points scored in a game by both teams. The sportsbook will set a line, let’s say 216.5 points and you can bet on the total points scored by both teams going over or under that total.
Player Props - Also known as player performance, these NBA Finals bets allows you to bet on one player in a number of categories including points, rebounds and assists. This is a very popular market which relies on the bookmaker setting the line and the bettor picking over or under.
Are There Any NBA Finals Betting Promotions?
Of course there are NBA Finals betting promotions. Basketball remains one of the most popular sports across North America and the NBA Finals are the showpiece event, so it goes without saying that there are a host of NBA Finals betting promotions available from licensed bookmakers.
These vary in type, with some offering customers the opportunity to insure their bets, while other offer customers the chance to add bonuses to their winnings. A leading sportsbook in the US currently offers to pay customers out early if the team they back in the Moneyline market takes a 20-point lead at any point in the matchup. It does not matter if they go on to win or lose.
So whichever bookmaker you place your bets with, check out the bookmaker promotions section in order to find out what NBA Finals betting promotions are available to you. And if you are looking for a new bookmaker to place your NBA Finals bets with, check out our review section here.
