The Mavericks enjoyed a good run in the middle of January as they reeled off four consecutive victories, but they have been unable to get back on track since the 116-110 defeat to the Los Angeles Lakers ended that run.
They then fell 118-105 to Minnesota and 123-121 to Charlotte at home, before heading out on the road to lose 111-107 in Houston.
Dallas then returned home and suffered two more defeats as they were beaten 110-100 to Boston and 135-123 to San Antonio.
The Mavericks lost the return meeting with the Spurs on the road too, 138-125, before seeing their losing skid reach eight games on Tuesday as they lost 120-111 in Phoenix.
Los Angeles Lakers Form
Los Angeles come into this matchup looking to get back on track after suffering back-to-back defeats at home.
The Lakers enjoyed a strong finish to January as they won five of their final seven games that month, but started February with a 112-110 defeat in New York.
They rebounded the wrap up that long road trip with a 125-109 win in Brooklyn, and then backed that up with a couple of victories at home.
Los Angeles beat Philadelphia 119-115, and then made it three-in-a-row with a 105-99 success against Golden State.
The Lakers have not won since though, following up a 119-110 home defeat to Oklahoma City with a 136-108 loss at the hands of San Antonio.

Los Angeles need a home win to stop the rot, so the timing of this matchup could not be any better.
