Minnesota Timberwolves at Denver Nuggets Preview & Picks

Minnesota are tipped to cover as an underdog in Denver.

The Timberwolves have had a healthy knack for covering here over the past few seasons.

The Nuggets, meanwhile, have been struggling for covers recently, especially at home.

  • Minnesota Timberwolves are 22-6-0 ATS in their last 28 games in Denver
  • Minnesota Timberwolves are 5-0-0 ATS in their last 5 visits to Denver
  • Denver Nuggets are 4-9-0 ATS in their last 13 games
  • Denver Nuggets are 1-6-0 ATS in their last 7 home games

Head To Head

  • Denver Nuggets lead the all-time series 86-55
  • Minnesota Timberwolves lead the season series 2-1
  • Minnesota Timberwolves won 130-115 when the teams last met on February 1

Minnesota Timberwolves Form

Minnesota have lost four of their last five games and have started their four-game roadtrip with back-to-back losses.

The Timberwolves’ dip started with a 110-108 defeat in Dallas last week and was followed by a 125-116 loss at home to Phoenix.

They stopped the fort with a 116-95 win over Dallas last Friday night, but they have not won since.

Minnesota started this run of road games with a 134-112 blowout defeat in Boston on Sunday night.

They then fell to another convincing defeat in Toronto on Wednesday, losing 125-102 to the Raptors.

Anthony Edwards put up a team-leading 24 points and added eight rebounds in the loss.

Karl-Anthony Towns registered 16 points and 10 rebounds in his first double double in four games.

Denver Nuggets Form

Denver are looking to reel off a fourth consecutive win when they host Minnesota tonight.

The Nuggets’ playoff push took a hit earlier this month when they went on a 3-5 run, but they have rebounded since the weekend.

They bounced back from the loss to Phoenix with a 113-107 win over Oklahoma City to end last week on a high.

Denver followed that up on Monday night with a hard-earned 113-109 win in Charlotte.

The Nuggets then made it back-to-back wins on Wednesday night as they downed the Pacers 125-118 in Indiana.

Nikola Jokic led the way for Denver as he poured in 37 points and registered 13 rebounds and nine assists as he went agonisingly close to a triple double.

Will Barton put up 18 points for the Nuggets, while Bones Hyland and 20 points and seven assists off the bench.

Verdict

Minnesota have a great track record for covering in Denver.

Given the Nuggets’ recent spread struggles, that trend is likely to continue tonight.
