Minnesota Timberwolves Form
Minnesota head back out on the road knowing that one more defeat will bring an end to their season.
The Timberwolves opened the series on the road and suffered back-to-back defeats to Oklahoma City, losing 114-88 and 118-103.
They issued a sensational response in their home opener, as they routed the Thunder 143-101, but failed to build on that as they lost 128-126 to find themselves on the brink of elimination.
Minnesota came into the conference finals on a dominant run, winning eight of their 10 games to set up this showdown with the Thunder.
The Timberwolves made a dream start to the playoffs as they beat the Lakers in Los Angeles, 117-95 in Game 1.
They then rebounded from a 94-85 loss with 116-104, 116-113 and 103-96 victories to secure a place in the second round.
Minnesota dropped their opening game against Golden State, 99-88 at home, but issued an emphatic response to win the series 4-1.
The Timberwolves reeled off four consecutive wins over the Warriors, advancing to the Western Conference Finals thanks to 117-93, 102-97, 117-110 and 121-110 wins.
Oklahoma City Thunder Form
Oklahoma City return home with an opportunity to wrap up the series after a big win in Minnesota on Sunday.
The Thunder successfully defended their home court in the first two games of the series, as they beat the Timberwolves 114-88 and 118-103.
They then dropped their road opener, 143-101, only to rebound immediately with a 128-126 victory that has left them one win away from the NBA Finals.
Oklahoma City came into Western Conference Finals on the back of a seven-game series, but having played just one more game than the Timberwolves.
The Thunder swept Memphis in four games in the opening round of the postseason, reeling off 131-80, 118-99, 114-108 and 117-115 wins.
The second round was not a straightforward though, as it took them seven games to finally eliminate Denver.
Oklahoma City fell behind early as they lost 121-119 and 113-104 (OT) either side of a 149-106 victory, but they turned it around with three wins in the next four games.
The Thunder won the next two, 92-87 and 112-105, before bouncing back from a 119-107 defeat with a series-clinching 125-93 success at home.
Verdict
Minnesota gave themselves a glimmer of hope in Game 3, and then Oklahoma City took it away in Game 4.
The Thunder have been almost flawless at home in the playoffs, so we expect them to clinch an NBA Finals berth on Wednesday.
