The Spartans opened the season with three consecutive non-conference games at home, and took full advantage of that.
They opened with a 23-6 victory over Western Michigan, and then backed that up by beating Boston College 42-40 and Youngstown State 41-24.
Michigan State were unable to maintain that form at the start of their Big Ten schedule though, losing each of their first three conference games.
The Spartans were beaten 45-31 at USC and 38-27 at Nebraska, before returning home for a 38-13 defeat to UCLA.
Indiana Form
Indiana return home on the back of their biggest win of the season so far, which propelled them into AP’s top three and kept their perfect record intact.
The Hoosiers kicked off the campaign with a 27-14 win over Old Dominion, and then went on to dominate Kennesaw State and Indiana State in 56-9 and 73-0 victories.
That sent them into their conference schedule with plenty of momentum, and they have maintained that through three games.
Indiana opened their Big Ten slate with a stunning 63-10 demolition of an Illinois team that was ranked in the top 10 by AP.
The Hoosiers then won 20-15 in Iowa, before heading Oregon to knock off the number-three ranked Ducks, 30-20.
Verdict
Indiana are flying high after heading to Oregon and impressively taking down the Ducks.
