They failed to make it three-in-a-row in their opening conference game though, as they were beaten at home by Georgia, 44-41.
Tennessee rebounded immediately though, beating UAB 56-24 on the road, and then registered their first SEC win of the season as they won 41-34 at Mississippi State.
The Volunteers backed that up with another conference win last weekend, as they beat Arkansas 34-31 to improve to 5-1.
Alabama Form
Alabama enter this matchup having rebounded from the shock opening-day defeat with a five-game win streak.
The Crimson Tide entered the season as a top-10 team in the AP rankings, but immediately slipped from that position as they lost 31-17 at Florida State.
They rebounded emphatically a week later to shut out UL-Monroe, 73-0, and then downed another non-conference rivals as they beat Wisconsin 38-14.
That sent Alabama into a run of four straight games against ranked SEC opposition with some momentum, and they have kept the ball rolling so far.
The Crimson Tide downed Georgia 24-21 on the road, beat Vanderbilt 30-14 at home, and then went back out on the road to fend off Missouri, 27-24.
